I've been baking and cooking for family and friends all of my adult life, and it gives me great pleasure (and them too I hope). In the last few years I have been more focused on bread , I took the Microbakery course with Liz Wilson in september 2019 which was great and the beginning of a more concerted effort to be a better baker.
My career to date has been in horticulture and this influences my baking as I try and get what I grow into (or onto - think jam, pickle, chutney) my bakes. I haven't started growing my own grain (yet) but fruit, vegetables and herbs from our organic garden often feature.
I started baking sourdough for a few neighbours in early May as they couldn't get hold of yeast during lockdown and this has resulted in my micro bakery Rosehill Bakes. I'm currently baking one day a week in my domestic kitchen and delivering bread to friends and neighbours in surrounding villages.
