  • Sourdough Made Simple

    Sourdough, made with a wild yeast culture instead of commercial yeast, is delicious and easier to digest than many other breads because of its longer fermentation. It has also become extraordinarily popular so what’s it all about? How do you make and maintain a starter? Can you fit bread that takes many hours to make into your busy life? Please join me in my not very big kitchen for a day immersed in all things Sourdough. We will make a “starter”, also known as a chef, mother, levain, poolish, biga, etc., a white sourdough, rye sourdough and multi-grained sourdough. We’ll also devour slices of different flavoured sourdough loaves over lunch while we continue our conversation about these utterly fabulous breads. Advice on recipe books, websites, useful equipment and folding techniques are all part of the package and at the end of the day you’ll take home all you’ve baked plus the confidence to have a go yourself.
