What do you learn on the micro bakery course?

The Bread Angels micro bakery course teaches  students what they need to know in order to set up a micro bakery business.  The course combines actual bread making tuition, with modules on a the "science" of how to bake, sales and marketing, and the logistics and administration involved in running a small business.  After the course, students can choose to stay part of the Bread Angels network and continue to receive practical support and advice through one of our many on-line and face to face channels.

We offer the course in various formats in order to meet the different needs of our students.  Currently, we offer a hybrid model that includes courses by Zoom, with face to face courses to follow.  We also offer a fully virtual course with optional hours of 1-1 remote tutoring for people who may not want to, or cannot, attend a face to face course.  The virtual course does not include sourdough baking.

There are benefits to the different formats.  In the current situation, we cannot teach face to face and that is why we are starting people off by Zoom and look forward to meeting you soon to complete the course.  The virtual course may suit those who do not see that they will be able to do a face to face course in the near future or do not live a trainer.  Either way we are here to help you set up your own bread business and are delighted to talk you through the options.  Just contact us!

We offer three different variations on the face-to-face (now hybrid) course:

- Gluten Free
- Non Gluten Free with an introduction to sourdough
- Non Gluten Free with no sourdough component

Every variant contains the same level of training when it comes to the science of bread and baking, the business of sales and marketing, and the details of how to set up and run a small business.  If you are not certain which one is best for you please contact us!

Participation in the hybrid/face-to-face classes is strictly limited so that sessions are intimate and cosy.  In our courses, you have plenty of time and space to learn what you need to learn in your own way, at your own pace, from the course tutor and the other participants.  Perhaps the greatest benefits of becoming a Bread Angel is the access to the entire network of Bread Angels as your mentoring group.  Your tutor will always be on hand for you to contact directly.  The private facebook group is the place where all Bread Angels ask questions, get support and information, and exchange ideas and tips.  The benefits of the course continue as long as you are baking!
