All courses are taught in a home kitchen and they are small and hands on. Most recently Ma Baker was awarded Best Sole Trader at the British Small Business Awards. This year Liz's breads are finalists at the World Bread awards 2018 and the Delicious Produce Awards. 'Liz is not only a wonderful teacher, she is also a warm and friendly host who provides all the guidance necessary to recreate it all in the comfort of your own kitchen. the classes are small, which means you get far more for your money than other available courses. This class is a must for all who want to learn the art of breadmaking and in particular sourdough.   • Italian Breads

    Learn how to make some delicious Italian Breads with an award winning baker. Try your hand at Focaccia, Ciabatta and two different types of Grissini.

    Morning tea, bread tastings, recipes and lots of bread to take home are all included.

    "My girlfriend and I spent half a day learning to make Italian bread with Liz Wilson, aka Ma Baker, and it was quite simply the most fun cooking lesson I’ve ever had. What separates this course from others is the fact that it takes place in Liz’s own kitchen, in her own home. Classes are limited to a maximum of four participants, and the end result is a relaxed and extremely welcoming environment. Liz herself is a wonderful teacher and a really nice person to be around, and while she crams a huge amount of knowledge into the time you spend with her (four separate recipes and endless know-how), it always feels like you’re just hanging out with a friend. The mixing, kneading and baking itself is all very enjoyable, and the bread itself is nothing short of heavenly. At the end of the session you’ll take home everything you’ve made (bring a large bag), but more importantly you’ll be dead eager to take another crack at the recipes in your own kitchen. One week on from the lesson, I’ve already baked a focaccia from scratch, and I’ll be doing more baking in the next few days. If a half-shaved ape such as myself can do this, anyone can.
